The
battle to save Utah's wildlands will be won or lost on the strength of
involvement by people like you. Every effort makes a difference.
Here are some simple things you can do to help protect some of the most spectacular wildlands left in the country. For the most up-to-date information, see SUWA's action page.
Become a member
of SUWA. For a $30 membership donation, you'll receive a quarterly
newsletter, action-packed bulletins and either the splendid video Art
in Stone--with some 350 magnificent color photos--or the set of eight
Ancient Images color notecards with envelopes,
featuring pictures like
these.
If you're not sure why you should become a member, please read the letter from the Executive Director of SUWA.
Urge your
representative to become a cosponsor of
HR1500 (the good bill,
which designates 5.7 million acres of wilderness in Utah), if he or she is
not one already. If your representative is already a cosponsor, contact him
or her and express your appreciation.
Find out how
to contact your representative, and whether or not he or she is a
cosponsor.
Contact your Senators and ask them oppose
Senate bill S884 (the bad
Utah wilderness bill). Ask them to instead support HR1500.
Contact the White
House and ask President Clinton to veto S884
and
HR1745 if they make it through
Congress.
Write a letter
to the editor of your local newspaper about why you support HR
1500. This can help others in your community to understand the importance
of Utah Wilderness.
THANKS! YOUR EFFORTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
