I am an english composer and poet- all may write to me who are interesting and educated- sincere and intelligent-creative and warm- the world is run by thirteen families and we need to recognise these people and send them love as they are full of deceit- and- hatred for the rest of us- let us pray for them- when they stand aside then we can have a golden age on this planet but not before.

Thank you for this highly revealing site. However, the talk about a better world in this "evil and adulterous generation" is not only a wishful thinking, but also a fatal deception. Man's only hope of a better world is in the Golden City,The New Jerusalem where Lord Jesus Christ will rule eternity. It is the only secured home for all believers in Him.Those that placed their confidence in this polluted world will be greatly disappointed and ashamed on the latter days. To be fully accepted and joyfully wellcomed in that beautiful Kingdom of Christ,we must come with humble mind and absolute readiness to repent from our old ways. We must confess our sins, and then reach out for our Saviour who alone is able to raise us from the pit of sin in which we are sunken. The thought of being partakers of His Kingdom without these inevitable steps will be transient, the odds of false hope on the lips of hypocrites.

Let's reason this together; "A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another,as I have loved you, that you also love one another"--Lord Jesus Christ;more than 2000 years ago(John13:34) "Love does no harm to his neighbour;therefore Love is the fulfillment of the law"--Apostle Paul;over 20 centuries ago "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.....and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood"--Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights-UN General Assembly. From all these,it quite glaring that Love is bigger than anything else. It's a sterling virtue which the entire universe agreed upon.As an attribute of God,man ought not to possess any other spirit since Love is the embodiment of all godliness. But I am amazed and dismayed at the dullness of human comprehension of these great pronouncements. It's the pitfall of almost all mankind in all fields. The entire world is thriving in chaos and confusion. The wall of partion, the dividing prejudice of nationality, the territorial lines, the racial hatreth, the artificial distinction of the society are incredibly high despite the daily hype about United nations in a civilised world.Who and Who are really united in United Nations? What is civil about a world where some countries are superbly rich and others are horribly poor, some people are fabulously wealthy and enjoys all the splendours of this world and majority others are starving to death with barely very little or nothing to eat?Is there any spirit of brotherhood in a world where wealth is so unrighfully divided and the life of man too insignificant in the conscience of his fellow man, where solidiarity has become a rare good and peaceful co-existence an illusion,Where a heart rending number of "lost generation" are left to walking in the byways of pervertion, degredation and abject slavery? Can Love be found in our churches and religious institutions with hypocritical proffession of faith, with prodigal display of pomp and splendour, with absence of ethical HOLINESS?Is the law fulfilled in these custodians of sacred and secular values? Can true LOVE reign in these institutions that are much more concerned in building Empires and imposing Edifices in a world most of them believe will pass away? These questions puzzles me.Many are morbid afraid to confront them headlong Please share your view with this worried friend from one of the unheard-of -areas of this part of the globe. I am seeking to love and beloved in Jesus Christ.Extend your solidiarity with true spirit of brotherhood.Let's make LOVE a meaninful network of value.Let's link thought to thought and Heart to heart. "If you fulfill the ROYAL LAW according to the scripture:thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself,You do well" It is the fulfillment of TRUTH and AMITY Mail your comments to:onwuchuruba@yahoo.fr

Y A O H Ú S H U A FACTS SHOCKING BUT TRUE! 1. The real, original and genuine Name of our Creator in the original Hebrew Holy Scriptures is 'YAO-HOO' and that of the genuine Messiah is 'YAO-HOO-SHUA.' (accented on the syllable 'hoo') 2. Salvation is found in nobody else for there is no other name under heaven given to men for salvation except: 'YAOHÚSHUA' - Acts 4:12, Holy Scriptures. 3. Whoever calls upon the Name of 'YAOHÚSHUA' shall be saved from all the curses and penalties of sin, such as poverty, diseases, failures, bankruptcies, losses, earthquakes, wars, frustrations, AIDS, torment, insanity, family breakdowns, rebellions, divorces, tragedies, natural catastrophes, violence, death and hell - Deuteronomy 28, Holy Scriptures. 4. All have sinned and come short of the glory of YÁOHU UL, the Holy One of Israel; and the wages of sin is death. That's why unless a person is spiritually REBORN, he cannot enter the Kingdom of YÁOHU UL! - John 3:3, Holy Scriptures. (pronounced: yao-hoo ool, accented on the syllable 'yao') 5. For YÁOHU UL so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, the Messiah YAOHÚSHUA, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life! - John 3:16, Holy Scriptures 6. Salvation is a FREE GIFT of YÁOHU UL, out of the richness of His grace, not of works. No one shall be acquitted in YÁOHU UL's sight by obedience to the law, for to break a single command in the law of Moses is the same as breaking all of them! - Ephesians 2:8-9 and James 2:10, New Testament, Holy Scriptures. 7. And this is life eternal: that you may know YÁOHU UL, the only true Creator and the Messiah Whom He sent - YAOHÚSHUA! - John 17:3, Holy Scriptures 8. YAOHÚSHUA is the only Way, the Truth and the Life; no one can approach the Father, YÁOHU UL, except through the Messiah YAOHÚSHUA alone! All you have to do is to believe in His Name, make and receive the Messiah YAOHÚSHUA in your heart as your one and only individual life Ruler and Savior! Now is your time to repent, believe and trust the genuine Messiah YAOHÚSHUA to save you! - John 14:6, 1:12-13, Holy Scriptures 9. YAOHÚSHUA the Messiah died in your behalf, as your personal Substitute, and He personally suffered the penalties of all your sins! All you must now do is to believe and receive all the benefits of His redemptive work, it's that easy and simple. All your sins were already forgiven when the Messiah YAOHÚSHUA took on Himself all the penalties of your sins, and the only thing you must do now is to REPENT then believe, receive and personally appropriate for yourself all the eternal benefits of His total, complete redemption! 10. Our Creator-Head exists in a TRIUNE Eternal Nature: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. 'Triune' means three fully-united Eternal Beings. - 1 John 5:7, Holy Scriptures 11. You must not use the most-reverend, original Name of YÁOHU UL disrespectfully nor irreverently. You will not escape YÁOHU UL GABOR's punishment if you do. - Exodus 20:7, Holy Scriptures 12. The most-revered Name of our Creator-Head was CHANGED when the Hebrew 'Holy Scriptures' was translated into different languages and dialects; thus, the Name of our Creator and His Messiah was CHANGED into DIFFERENT names of various pagan and cultic idols! Be sure you are not relying on fake creators and false messiahs! Beware! It's your life and only soul at risk! Prepare for eternity now! Discover truths that will set you free! Truths long ignored by many and which only the original Messiah YAOHÚSHUA can reveal to honest seekers of truth! YAOHÚSHUA is the Truth! YAOHÚSHUA is the genuine Messiah and no one else! He can really save, deliver, heal, protect, prosper and help you! Remember, THERE IS NO OTHER NAME under heaven given to men for salvation except this Name above every name: YAOHÚSHUA! Salvation is found in no other name, repeat, no other name! Call or write soonest for your free literature which reveal clear, obvious yet ignored facts in the Holy Scriptures (Biblia Hebraica)! Whatever became of Rudolph Gunnerman and his A-21 fuel project? Saw his appearance on CBS back in February '96 with the then host of the CBS morning show, Harry Smith. It then looked like this was a monumental development which would have earth shaking repercusions, howvever, not one word since. This all reminds me of a similar development, during WWI, which was persued through the years by Esquire and Readers Digest. I have a copy of the 1935 Readers Digest article with all of the details of this earlier event.

Please join our Earth Day 2000 videoconference! Chat! and Natural Msucial Instrument Jam sessions throughout the day!!! Creativity Cafe's "KidCast For Peace; Solutions For a Better World;" is a telecommunications activity in which kids meet (Earth Day, April 22, 2000 is next) in videoconferences several times a year to share their heart and ideas for making the world a happier, healthier, and more peaceful/safer place. Kids (of all ages with focus on K-12) create analog and digital art, animation, web sites, etc. that demonstrate suggestions for improving the planet and its peoples. The actual KidCast For Peace is a CU-SeeMe multi node videoconference in which kids share their work interactively with their peers globally. We are giving children an opportunity to tell the adults what to do for a change and to help shape the world they will inherit. Complete details are found in the teleactivity center; KidCast Central: http://creativity.net/kidcast2.html. Please participate and assist our future leaders!

Dear Sir, "Surajmukhi" is an Organisation working for Nature education & conservation in Central India. Central India as you may be aware is an area rich in Bio-Diversity(also called as The Tiger State). The area has some of the best protected areas of the country includibg The Kanha National Park, which happens to be the best managed National Park of India and probabely of entire Asia. However inspite of the immense Natural wealth bestowed on Central India the area is one of the poorest regions of the country and hence the Bio-Diversity is prone to threat because of heavy dependence of the masses on the protected areas for forest products. We at Surajmukhi are involved in Conservation of these areas through Documentation of Bio-Diversity.Presently we are involved in documentation & identification of Birds of "Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary".We have realised the importance of Networking NGO's both from India and abroad so as to involve maximum participation in Conservation efforts going round the world. In this context we have developed a Website which defines our areas of interest and now we are looking for the funding and promotional aspects for our Organisation and Website. PROMOTION: We look forward to promote our site under the link/Banner exchange programmme whereby your links/Banners would be displayed on our Website in lieu of our links/Banners on your Website. This would help to serve mutual as well universal cause of Conservation. I'd like to buy the excellent products made by "Ecover", "Nature Clean", and "Seventh Generation" all the time, but they're still a bit pricey in Canada, and since I'm still in university, I can't always afford them. My next fifty million steps. On November 11th (Remembrance Day) I will begin a walk that will take me first through the British Isles, then through Europe, the Middle East, and Russia to China. Along the way, I will speak to everbody I meet about the beauty of the Earth and encourage them to plant a tree on behalf of every man, woman and child killed in the wars and troubles of the last century. This is a tall order for the little man that I am, but not beyond the realms of possibility, I think. Before I go, and while I walk, I will pray and I will dream. I will dream that there will be so much support that National Governments, will be inspired to create forests of Peace and Remembrance, where every single tree that is planted represents a man, woman and child. This would be over one hundred million trees. The other day, I read an article in the millennium issue of the Ecologist Magazine. That particular issue was on Religion and Ecology. In the article was a reference to the tree, 'The tree is a bridge to heaven.' Let there be heaven on earth. When I walked to Sarajevo to plant a tree during that cities three-year siege, I did so because I wanted to show solidarity with the people; promote Peace…Through Ecological restoration and because I believe in miracles. Many people thought I should have reached out to the media more, but that was not the nature of the journey. I received the message to plant the tree, while I was living in the trunk of a giant California Redwood Tree. Therefore, I believed it to be sacred. In truth, I was afraid, for the war was raging, but knew that I had to go. Crossing the US deserts at night, climbing the Rockies, I was alone with the universe, yet full of life. And I could see the routes of the tree, once planted, spreading through the earth. And dreamed that from those roots trees would multiply about the earth and peace would come. It is but a dream that I have. Would you like to participate in it.? May the sun shine in your beautiful garden. Paul Coleman Earthwalker and common man. paul@earthwalker.com

Read your story by Bill Leland,my view is that it's better for U.S congress to pass A Bill which prohibited cigrette production; for solar hot water system, it's not easy enough to commercalize right now or the technology is not good enough,/ other view is : if the solar system cover too much area, there would be no place for green leaf to change solar power then while the green plant is the most efficent way to use solar powder. What's your view then ? Best regards. An enviroment protector in China.

This is my first time to log on to your zine and still have to check it out in detail, but so far it looks promising to be a sustainable communication medium for the conscious public. I hope to make time to contribute and keep dicovering new perspectives with the readers. My personal quest is to investigate the subject of CORRUPTION in general and how we can reduce it on a broadband level. My concept of corruption is not nessaraly related to politics or corporate officers. It's the parent/child relationship we need to exsplor. John Emery

Greetings, Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to read through your site in any real detail, but what I did see encourages me to come back to read more. Many of the issues obstructing the road to a "better world" for the planet can only be addressed if the people of the various countries of the world can learn to let go of their biases (learned over several thousand years of competition), and start listening to each other as "real people" instead suspect "foreigners." It seems to me that this small (?) step must be taken to give a truly better world a chance of survival. One of the tools for more communication between the people of the world is (of course) the very internet over which I'm sending this email, but there are others. Television has had enormous impact around the globe over the last 30 years. Unfortunately, much of TV's influence hasn't been favorable. When media types (I'm a film/video producer) try to create projects to help the global situation, historically they haven't produced programs the public wants to watch. There seems to be a bias in the communications industry against entertaining while educating. Obviously, if a program is entertaining, more people will watch it. If more people watch an educational program because it is entertaining...well, more people will be educated. Seems logical, but logic doesn't seem to rule. However, it also seems obvious that if more people watch, more money could be made by advertisers. Hmmmmm, money always rules...maybe there is a chance. This email is starting to be somewhat "stream of conciousness," and is sounding a little "preachy." Please forgive my rambling. I do have a project (or two) that may "compliment" your efforts. One is called Global Troubadour, and is an international television series designed to introduce the people of the different countries to each other on a personal basis...as real people. There is a homepage for it, but I couldn't make the hyperlink stick in this email. The program has already been invited to shoot segments in 26 countries around the world, but as with any project there are stumbling blocks. We continue to work on them. I've got to get back to work, but I look forward to future issues of your BetterWorld. By the way, our production company for Global Troubadour is called WorldView Productions Unlimited. Sincerely, Mark Guenther P.S. This is entirely selfish, but I sure wish your email had a spell checker on it. Oh well.

Ecology is a great place to thijnk about making a better world, but there's more to a better world than that. I'd like to see broader social issues, such as educational improvements, the effects of modern stress and frustration, etc. discussed in detail.

In my many days trying to find useful information on this tpoic on the web I have yet to come across a more well written e-zine that covers topics that I are directly related related to my interests. Hi! I have information regarding, the photon theory. Then I can also explain a whole lot of things which relates to our life such as , aerospace, medecine and the climate system. In order to understand we must question ourselves. The energy has not yet been fully understood. True, friction creates electricity. but electricity never comes alone, it is always coupled with either statics and/or magnetics. Well, has these three elements been studied in convergeances. then if the energy provides movement, is it not clear that this is the basics of life. There cannot be such a thing as a non curable desease! Science is simply at the extent of your understanding, and not to the extent of its self. So in this manner, everything around you is related through the energy, that is ecology, health and so on. May someone from your organisation contact me in this regards. Thank you Bertrand Poulin

In response to the article, "Envisioning a Sustainable Future" by Chris Nelder - I thoroughly enjoyed Chris Nelder's comprehensive round up of today's ecological issues and particularly applaud his recommendations. So many writers are able to see the problems but unwilling to suggest solutions. I would add one solution to his treatment of the world situation and that is to take our notion of personal responsibility for the planet even further by installing a population control program. Unless we reduce and stabilize the human population, no amount of innovative solutions will keep the human race from "devouring its host." This issue is frequently left unaddressed because it seems to infringe on human rights. However, I think subscribing to this "right" is every bit as short-sighted as believing in the "right" of businesses to conquer global markets at the expense of non renewable resources.

I have an environmental product that i would like to see used more. The product is called Fabric Fluffers. Fluffers are placed into the dryer and they tumble your clothing soft. This product is a one time buy item. Never buy chemicals to soften laundry again. This means huge savings in chemicals not added to the environment. I have the original pair of fluffers they are over 11 years old. I started solid ideas because my daughter had allergies, but i wanted to have soft bedding and clothing for her. I would like someont to contact me if they have any ideas of how to market this product. Fluffers have been on the market for over 11 years. Thank You Robin Gorman 360-426-9811

Environmental groups need to be aware of and watch out for fraud in the "green" commercial sector. Some companies are working on legitimate technology, while others (most notably some multi-level marketing schemes) are taking advantage of the green trend and essentially are committing consumer fraud. A number of netizens are currently investigating American Technologies Group (ATG), a company marketing "clean science" products. Check out http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/ATG for more details.

I enjoyed your zine but was put off by the hemp stuff. In an attempt to refrain from abusing the environment, fellow humans, and animals, I fail to see where kicking back with a joint provides the same ideals.Mixed messages on your part - maybe it is natural, but blowing away brain-cells seems redundant.

Attn: Editor I am a literary research intern for the Center for Environmental Science at the College of Staten Island. It is nice to see others striving for a sustainable environment. I would appreciate your advice for those fighting for Staten Island's sustainability. Staten Island is a unique site. It harbors the world's largest illegal landfill. There have been various accounts of toxics being dumped on Staten Island. Staten Island is also in the position of air currents which blow from New Jersey's petro-chemical industry. These air current streams travel across Staten Island @ 340 days of the year. (It has not yet been proven that these currents carry particulate matter from the industry becauses the landfill also rests on the side of the island where these currents first hit. Staten Island's air quality is an ongoing exploration.) A new toxic incinerator is propsed for Linden, New Jersey and has citizens very concerned. There is so much more to be said about this area. What empowering advice can you offer to help Staten Island move towards sustainability? Please Respond. Personaly, I am employed by a fund which may not be able to support me much longer. I have a masters in English literature, two years in the environmemntal field and an environmental science graduate course on my resume. What advice can you give a struggling and devoted person? Thank you for your time. Best wishes, Julie Anne Moschella.

Thank-you! I have recently rediscovered the interest of my younger days in the environment, gardening, alternative energy. Your zine helps feed the desire for more information and to "do" something! Articles on electric cars and "a day in the life" push buttons for me to make a start, even if it is small (like recycling my shampoo bottle, and all the other bottles I use in my day). It also forces me to look at what I am teaching (by my actions) to my 3 kids. What will there world be like in 20 years. Keep up the good work! I'll be watching!

Do you have any interest in joining a network of not-for-profit environmental organizations developing a clean energy index? If so, we are trying to link as many as we can. My name is Howard Konicov, the network is called A4EC, and I am the Executive Director of a small environmental 501(c)(3) called the Synthesis Foundation. Also I am an alumni of IU's School of Public and Environmental Affairs. There is no cost involved to joining, just a growing number of environmentalists with a good idea and a vision to make our utility bills count for something. Thank you for your time, Howard Konicov networking@synthesisfoundation.org ps: we have some information at www.impactonline.org under the heading "The Synthesis Foundation" under environmental organizations, our in house web site is still under development.

I did not know of your existence, but now I've found the site I'll be back. I live in the village of Hamble, Hants U.K. where I lead the Local Agenda 21 Team for one year until we decided to have no furthet involvement because the local authority would not listen to us. We produced our document and sent it to the CEO of the L.Authority, butr when six months later I spoke to the planning department they denied all knowledge. How can you make Brits move? The Local Authority has an Agenda 21 Officer, but he doesn't seem to have any influence. Its as though "A 21" is too dangerous to be allowed out for the common man, its best left in the office inside a filing cabinat. I intend to start up the group agin in the coming year. Thankyou for a great journal.

How I propose to generate electrcity from ocean waves. How how I might get a constant 800 lb force. Picture a swamped 100 gal. drum filled with enough water to just keep it afloat..( swamped? ) Now picture a shaft on an ocean fishing pier with three or four bicycle sprockets.(clutches, ratchets etc.for freewheeling on the up stroke) This swamped float is tethered to a piling beneath the shaft an a chain hooked to the float and draped over the sprocket with a weight on the other end of chain to keep it taunt. Swamped float close to 800 lb ( less what it takes to float the drum. ) on downward stroke ,800 lb pull. You would have a second and third etc. drum tethered downstream and chained to other sprockets on same shaft, while first drum is moving up ,wave, ( no force ) second drum would be on downward stroke etc. I use this small model to demonstrate idea, but it can be scaled up and multiplied to what you want. I would appreciate your opinion.THANKS "LOU"

Dear Environmentally Concerned: Five years ago, in Rio de Janeiro world leaders gathered and adopted a "Strategy To Save The Planet." What is known as Agenda 21, the pledge in part reads; "I plan to make the earth a secure and hospitable home for present and future generations." However five years later as we witnessed the quality of our air diminish, our water become more polluted, thousands of species become extinct while old growth forests continue to fall, world leaders conceded at the Rio+5 conference that their pledge to save the planet had not yet been put into action. Reality suggest for us to obtain balance with nature we need to change our current practices. Otherwise if we do not head the warning our children will inherit ecological problems that will take many lifetimes to repair. As a father and president of The Enviro Net I am concerned about the impact we are having of the environment. In 1995 I started The Enviro Net in Costa Rica with a goal of making a difference. Costa Rica is globally known for its environmental leadership. The small Central American country is a essential link to the world’s ecology, home to the highest percentage of environmentalist per capita and is the headquarters for the United Nation’s Earth Council. It is my belief that Costa Rica is the logical position to set a valid ecological blueprint to bring about positive environmental change. Data confirms using hemp is vital link to the environmental solution. History has shown hemp used in a variety of applications and causes far less ecological deterioration than many products which are currently widely used. Manufacturing and promoting hemp products is integral component in preserving our environmental integrity, thus if we are going to save the planet, hemp should be moved from the status of a novelty item to one of necessity and availed to more people. However and notwithstanding, if hemp is viewed by the consumer as being cost prohibitive it will be a struggle to reach our goal. Reports suggest some people can not or will not pay additional moneys to be environmental friendly. Thus if we in the industry truly have a goal of reducing current environmental degradation, I hope you agree making hemp products affordable and distribute throughout the world will allow a greater amount of people to participate in the ecological solution. Presently I am on a worldwide search for quality designers, companies and manufactures of hemp and other eco-friendly products. My purpose is to entice them to consider having their products manufactured in Costa Rica under The Enviro Net’s umbrella. With are ability to employ greater buying power, experiencing lower labor cost and with the Costa Rican government favorable exporting polices, I believe The Enviro Net can have hemp and eco-friendly products produced at a reduction in price. If you or someone you know is interested having products made with a lower cost and/or if offering your product line to the Latin market is part of your goal, contact us at rchoice@sol.racs.co.cr. so we can further discuss the concept. Remember the environment is not confined to our man-made boarders. All of us must participate in the to save the planet wherever we may be. Logically the more people who use eco-friendly products the fewer problems are children will have to resolve. The Sierra Club coined the phrase that we have "One Earth One Chance." At The Enviro Net we add, "We need to make the most of it." John Koger President The Enviro Net Apdo. 2269-4050 Alajuela, Costa Rica 011-506-441-7837 011-506-441-0122 fax

i think the story: "a day in the life" was very vreated and talked about things that actually do happen in real life. i specially liked the phrase: "no. i do know better, i just don't do better." i liked the way it made me realize that i'm always trying to help the worl but that's just not enough!!!! for example, in school we hae bins were to throw plastics, biodegradables, glass and paper , i do throw the trash in the right bin but after, the maintainance crew mixes it all up. i think that you should write more stories like this one and instead of just leaving it on this page, send it to every school or atleast try so that everyine can see that people living means nature dying!!! thankyou.

I want to what the total emision are for a electric powered car compared to a gasoline driven car. With that I mean, electricity is generated by huge plants running on fossile fuel. So I if all cars are running on electricity there should be more eletricity generated by power plants. Much of these plants are running on fossile fuel and the emision will be increased.

Im questioning the possible enviromental factors involved with the production of paper, clothes, rope, fuel, and food made of HEMP Ive been told that the amount of paper produced with Hemp to the amount made from trees isnt even measureable considering that trees contribute to our oxygen content and hemp could aslo contribute if we stopped cutting down trees.Especially when something is out there that IS more resourcefu. Its not a joke anymore why arent enviro. activists helping to take a stand? If californians and arizonians can say its alright for medical, then why not tell the Govt. we want HEMP for HEalth Because its a lot more economical in many many ways We need to educate!!! In 10 thousand years of growth HEMp MArijuana has never killed anyone But Tobacco, alcohol and Other serious drugs have. HEMP 4 HEALTH!!! l

I remimber when I was only 4 years old that the beach, Grand Isle, was at least 100 yards in width, now it's only about 25 yards in width. Also too our marsh that saperates us from the Gulf of Mexico is erioding twice as fast! If we don't do something sone there might not be much of LA left, that means no more cajun style gumboe left to injoy, and worst of all, most of the cajun heritage will be gone. With something to think about this is Don Colombel saying; see-ya and LE bounto Rulay, meaning, Let the Good Times Role!

Just a comment for thought. My husband and I are both in the environmental consulting business. We are hired by industry to investigate and clean up old chemical spills that have affected soil and ground water. Our business is flat. Firms are laying off our colleagues and industry knows it's a buyers market. They drive the price down, push the environmental agencies around and get away with doing less and less. What happened to the environmental agenda? Right now it's being run by industry.

Very interesting and indeed very usefull information you have on the web. I am doing a project for the Danish National Institute of Social Research. I am making a gross list of parameters and indicators that could be used in a social account, and I asses each of these on dimensions such as data-availability, verificability, examples of objective-setting, etc. Furthermore, I am setting up a model of a social account with some indicators listede in terms om money, number of persons, policy-statements, action plans etc.

Just found your site, more or less through the "back door" with INFOSEEK, while looking for info on what types of salts are produced by a process for mineralizing CFC's. The page on Rhubarb and FREON is GREAT! I already like the site, though I've only seen two pages so far, and I've already bookmarked it for future ref. as I intend to visit again when I have more time to browse around. Keep up the most excellent work!

I was surprised to see a "magazine" at this website since I got the address off a bottle of spirangella (that's not how you spell it, but it is a vitamin supplement I just started trying). I expected something about the earthwise company or the vitamin because I want to know more about it. DO you have any info on this? I must add that the Utah edition was very COOL!! best I've seen and I sent the address to friends to check it out. -k smith

It would be nice to have some sort of index. Right now, I have to do an economics project on the positive and negative effects of power plants on the environment. I was hoping to find some information to help me research that topic. If you want to email me any articles by any chance, feel free. Thank you for reading this. Sincerely, Lisa Roses286@aol.com

Dear all at BW, Thaks for producing such a thought provoking and educational site. I represent a company that has been researching and have now perfected and patented world wide, a hydrocarbon fuel emulsifing non ionic ,totaly organic additive package that can emulsify any hydrocarbon fuel including:Diesel, Heavy bottom tower grade oils, Bitumen and coal. We have tested the formula across all fuels with amazing results . We claim in our patent that we can eliminate up to 98% of all particulate emissions , 60% lower production of NOX , CO, And a substantial reduction of CO2 . Unlike A21 fuel we are not trying to maximise the ammount of water to maximise profit, but we have concentrated on producing the most effective balance of fuel to water to additive in order to achieve total combustion and energy efficiency in return. We have solved the problem of stability having now had the emulsions stable for 18 months without any sign of deterioration or seperation. We have frozen the diesel version to minus 24 degrees and then to plus 45 degrees and it has consistently survived these extremes of temperature due to the natural antifreeze characteristics of the additives. We have several vehicles and boilers running on the fueland have been using the fuel for over ywo years without any sign of corosion usualy brought about by the reductionin the lubricity of the fuel. We now are carrying out a comprehensive set of tests by laboratories in the UK under government supervision in order to coroborate the authenticity of the results. When we have those to hand we will then publish our findings. We want our product to be mass produced by a number of associated companies so that the benefit can be enjoyed by all.Unlike A21 fuels Little change to existing vehicles or plant work is necessary no change to injectors or insertion of permanent catylists etc so its cheap to adopt. We do not wish to dominate the supply manufacture and distribution of the product as we are quite realistic about the power of comercial interests . We believe that our invention ,which can be used by all sectors of indusrtry power generation and transportation ,will play a major role in the reduction of pollutant emissions. We have already established a potential list of interested end users and manufacturers the results so far are very encouraging. `As soon as we have the results we will let yiu have them as we do not wish to hide any of the facts and we want to ensure that we have a completely viable and tested product before releasing the news.. Once again keep up the good work will be in touch in the near future kindest regards to you all Henry Coelho

This is the first I have seen your website. Is Betterworld an organization, puplication or just a website, or is it all three. From what I have just seen you guys have hit just about every variety of ecological resources that is "popular" from hemp products to O.T.E.C..It has become clear to me that everywhere you look you can see how man has changed the earth. It isn't all bad but in cases of global pollution of synthetic produced chemicals and over use of conviences like autos, people need to be aware of the part they play in the environment. A publication of yours plays an important role today and int the future an even greater role. As time passes on everyone will begin to see how the human population as a whole (mostly the industrialized nations) have seceeded to change the conditions that once prevailed on earth which sustained and nurtured life. You guy are doing your part by puting out information like this. Excuse my rambling.

I am very interested in the accountabilitiy and responsibility of Multinational Corporations in the field of human rights. I would be very interested to hear views in relation to this subject. I will visit these pages often! Kind regards, Nicola
